Behind Closed Door

What's in your fridge? After Heidi Swanson got me totally hooked on her Sunday fridge scenes, 1. I started to pay more attention to what I actually place there, and 2. now I want to see all my friends' fridges! Is that weird? :)

So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Kerrilynn and Cindy's brilliant series where they ask people they know and admire to share a snapshot of their fridge, alongside their thoughts on their food philosophy and all the products they use. For example: Lacy is on an autoimmune gut healing diet that completely fascinates me, and Bonnie always tries to incorporate nutrient rich foods into her everyday favourite dishes. So inspiring, isn't it?

P.S: Also, a few weird items you should store in there too...

'Hello Sailor' Denim Tweak

Fancy a nifty trick to make your favourite jeans look snazzier this season?

Just cuff them, but not by using the double or triple small fold technique. This year the classic 'hello sailor' cuff is back and although at first I wasn't sure about it, now I really like the look, especially on boyfriend jeans. It's all about an exaggerated single fold (about 6-inches) that ideally hits just above your ankle bone.

What do you think: thumbs up or down?

Break The (Phone) Habit

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Be honest, how often do you catch yourself checking your phone out of habit, boredom, stress, or just because it’s something to do?

Many of my friends, including myself, have this compulsion of mindlessly glancing on our phones every chance we get. It’s equally annoying and silly (really!). Yet, till recently I had a hard time dropping this rather weird pattern.

So if you have little or no self-control, but you're committed to end this annoying co-dependency cycle, try Brad's genius trick:

'Take a stretchy hair band and wrap it around your phone. Put it right in the middle of the screen so you can answer incoming calls but you're still prevented from using it mindlessly.'

He continues on saying, that the hair band represents your thinking trigger, so when you reach for the phone and you see it there...your brain makes you ask yourself a simple question before you go any further: ''what is my intention?' If you really want to use the phone, set your intention for why, and remove the hair band. If you realize that there is no real reason for you to unlock your screen, don’t do it and move on.'

Take my word for it, it really works! It's all about not letting your distractions rule your life and by developing a mindful habit of not giving in, you'll become less stressed, more mindful and you'll actually stop reaching for your phone as often...

Are you game?

P.S: A healthier way to phone chit-chats.

Two-Ingredient Mango Pudding

Since mangoes are in season right now, here is a super easy dessert that will blow your mind and transform even the most mundane evening into a tropical dream. The best bit is, it takes only 2 ingredients  to create this bowl of goodness - a fresh mango and a bit of coconut cream. The only thing is, the cream must be chilled. Here is the full how-to.

P.S: Also, how to peel them and cut them.
P.P.S: Plus, this delicious iced green mango tea.

Spring Hair Refresh

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Did you know that green tea is the perfect spring-hair-refresh remedy?

Till recently, I was clueless about it, but then I stumbled upon Deborah’s super nifty Matcha hair mask and I finally experienced what a true gem it really is! I used this mask twice already and I love how a simple mix of Matcha green tea powder combined with an egg and coconut oil makes my hair look all fresh, healthy and shiny.

Here is the full how-to if you fancy giving it a go too. Go on, don't be shy:)...

P.S: And something for your skin...
